North American Studies Roundtable

The annual North American Studies Roundtable brings together representatives from Finnish universities and other organizations from the field of North American Studies. The Roundtable is held each year in the beginning of February.

13th North American Studies Roundtable

Fulbright Finland’s 13th annual North American Studies Roundtable brought together a record number of participants in February 2017. Altogether 14 representatives from four Finnish universities, the U.S. Embassy, American Resource Center, the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, the John Morton Center and the Fulbright Finland Foundation gathered to share updates and discuss collaboration for the new year. The meeting agreed, among others, on increasing the use of technology, for instance live streaming selected lectures and events. The meeting also updated the list of upcoming events in North American Studies in Finland: www.fulbright.fi/en/north-american-studies

12th North American Studies Roundtable: University Cooperation in North American Studies

In February 2016, the Fulbright North American Studies Roundtable gathered together for the 12th time. It brought together program coordinators, lecturers and professors of North American Studies at Finnish universities to discuss concrete ways to enhance cooperation amongst the programs, develop new initiatives to support the teaching of North American Studies in Finland, and update and share information about the Canadian and U.S. Embassies, American Resource Center, the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, the John Morton Center for North American Studies resources, and the Fulbright resources.

The Roundtable tackled concrete issues and challenges and emphasized the growing importance and value of collaboration and sharing of information in the field.
