FULBRIGHT CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS MULTIDISPLINARY INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The Fulbright Center in Finland will host an international education conference in Helsinki in June under the title of Crossing Borders for Global Partnerships. The conference takes place at the Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa on June 19-22.

This international conference brings together Fulbright leaders and cooperating agencies from both sides of the Atlantic to share best practices and plan strategy for future exchanges. The conference will highlight the importance of multidisciplinary international cooperation in understanding global challenges ranging from migration and refugee issues to climate change and artic cooperation among other themes.

“The  Finnish-American  Fulbright  program  is  one  of  the  world’s  oldest  and  most  prestigious programs. It consistently identifies distinguished leaders in their field to participate  in  its  exchanges,  weaving  powerful  academic  ties  and  valuable research collaboration into an already robust bilateral relationship. The fact that this conference takes place in Finland is a testimony to the recognition of Fulbright Finland’s role internationally in advancing scientific and educational cooperation,” says Charles C. Adams, Jr. U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Finland, and Honorary Chair of the Fulbright Center.

The conference is funded by the U.S. Department of State and hosted by the Fulbright Center in Helsinki in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Over 90 participants from over 40 countries are expected to attend the conference.
