The Core Fulbright Program grants are awarded for lecturing or projects combining lecturing and research for a minimum of four months (one semester) and a maximum of one academic year (9 months).

The lecturer awards available for Finland this year are published in the Fulbright Awards Catalogue, which is usually available on February 1 each year at CIES/IIE.

The lecturer grants are EUR 2,700 per month. The grant includes a travel allowance of USD 1,800, and free housing for the grant period. The monthly grant, travel allowance, and insurance benefits are provided by Fulbright Finland. The grant is meant to cover all expenses in Finland. Housing is arranged by the host institution.

The application is made to the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES/IIE) by the deadline through their on-line application system. Application guidelines can be found on the CIES/IIE website. CIES/IIE pre-screens the applications in the U.S. and forwards the recommended applications to Fulbright Finland for final selection. Please check above for the most current information on application deadlines.

Remember that you have to make yourself a "My Fulbright" profile in order to access the program details and the Catalog of Awards.

Note that the application process is handled by the CIES/IIE until the processed applications are sent to the Fulbright Finland for final selection.

Additional Information

Additional information, including application materials, are available from the CIES/IIE.
