Fulbright Global Scholar Awards
The Global Scholar Award will allow U.S. academics and professionals to engage in regional or trans-regional research and teaching through visits to multiple countries.
Applicants will propose grant activities in two or three countries for short periods – a minimum of 1 month per segment and up to 6 months total for all segments. Global Flex Scholars can conduct several grant segments within one academic year or spread their visits over two or three academic years. Grants can begin as early as March 2017. The award is open to all disciplines and research or teaching/research activities. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional issues and proposing projects during the host institutions’ academic year. Successful proposals will clearly demonstrate a need to spend time in each of the proposed countries. Host affiliations are required in each country and letters of invitation from host institutions are strongly recommended.
The program is funded by the U.S. Department of State.
