2017-2018 Fulbright Finland Awards Announced

Altogether 34 new Fulbright Finland scholars, teachers, students and professionals heading to the United States for the next academic year will receive their grants at the Fulbright Finland Award Ceremony at the Helsinki City Hall on May 17, 2017. The event is hosted jointly by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the City of Helsinki. In addition to the new Finnish awardees and the current American Fulbright grantees, the events honors the Centennial Year of the Republic of Finland.

These awards are made possible by the Finnish and U.S. government support, the Finland-America Educational Trust Fund, Fulbright Finland’s partners from the higher education and private sector both in Finland and the United States, as well as individual donors. The new partners funding these awards include the KAUTE Foundation. Fulbright Finland also increasingly cooperates with U.S. universities through partnership agreements to make their scholarships more accessible to Finnish students, and the Foundation is now pleased to announce its first Partnership Award with the University of Colorado, Denver, funded by the Johnson Foundation.

Altogether Fulbright Finland expects to award approximately 90 grants for Finns and Americans for 2017-2018.
