Fulbright Finland Foundation CEO Terhi Mölsä and Rector of the University of Vaasa Jari Kuusisto signing a new grant program agreement

The University of Vaasa and Fulbright Finland Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement that launches the Fulbright-University of Vaasa Scholar Award scholarship program. The agreement provides U.S. researchers an opportunity to either conduct research or also additionally teach at the University of Vaasa.

The scholarship can be awarded for a period of 3–12 months, and it amounts to EUR 4,000 per month. In addition to the monthly grant, the researcher will receive a travel allowance and housing provided.

The scholarship is available for all disciplines of the University of Vaasa. To be eligible to apply, the candidate must have U.S. citizenship, a doctoral degree, and research and teaching experience over multiple years. Application for the program will be open for the first time already next summer, and it will be for the academic year 2020–2021. The selections are made once a year in December.

“Launching the Fulbright scholarship program strengthens the University of Vaasa's collaboration with the United States in research and teaching,” says Jari Kuusisto, the Rector of the University of Vaasa.

“Fulbright Finland strives to build long-term and impactful collaboration with Finnish universities to support their strategic goals, and we are delighted to begin a partnership with the University of Vaasa,” says Terhi Mölsä, the Chief Executive Officer of Fulbright Finland Foundation.  -  The new scholarship program created together with the University of Vaasa is also an excellent opportunity for U.S. researchers.
