Speaking Engagements
During your grant term in Finland, you will likely have speaking engagements around Finland. When referring to your award during your presentations or other speaking engagements, always mention both the Foundation and the partner. As we hope to report on your reach and impact during your grant term in Finland, the Foundation keeps statistics how many people the U.S. grantees reach during their grant term. To help us with this, let us know about your speaking engagements by filling out the following form:
Fulbright Speaker Program
The popular Fulbright Speaker Program offers an easy opportunity for Finnish schools, higher education institutions, associations, and other institutions to invite U.S. grantees to, for example, give a talk or lecture or host a workshop. The visits are a great opportunity to widen your networks, see different kinds of institutions, and with visits to schools, you get to learn about the Finnish education system.
There is funding available for the Fulbright Speaker program, so if you are invited to an institution outside your host city and they are not able to cover your travel costs, the Foundation can purchase your train/bus tickets. In these cases, please be in touch or ask the receiving institution to contact the Foundation prior to your scheduled visit, so that we can purchase the travel tickets for you.
